Mattel CEO Ynon Keri has revealed his reaction to Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach’s initial Barbie script.

In a new report from The New York Times, per ComicBook, Keri and other Mattel executives have shared how they felt after reading the script to 2023’s Barbie for the first time.

“It was deep, provoking, unconventional, and imaginative,” Kreiz said. “It was everything I was hoping it would be.”

“It was like going on this crazy ride,” Mattel Films head Robbie Brenner added. After making her way through the screenplay, Brenner told Kreiz, “I’ve read a lot of scripts, and this is so different. It’s special. You don’t get this feeling many times in an entire career.”
