The newest 28 Years Later set photos for Sony Pictures’ star-studded horror sequel to Danny Boyle’s 2002 cult classic 28 Days Later have arrived online.
The film is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 20, 2025. It will debut in the same month as other high-profile movies such as Lionsgate’s John Wick spin-off Ballerina, the live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie, and Brad Pitt’s F1 movie.
The latest photos from the set of 28 Years Later have unveiled the first look at Killing Eve star Jodie Comer‘s character. In most of the photos, the Emmy winner can be seen running away from what seems to be naked zombies. In addition to Comer, Young Royals star Edvin Ryding has also been spotted in some of the photos, teasing the Swedish actor’s role in the highly-anticipated sequel.
The upcoming horror sequel is once again being directed by Boyle from a screenplay written by Civil War’s Alex Garland. The ensemble cast also includes Aaron Taylor Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, and Erin Kellyman, with Oscar winner Cillian Murphy reprising his role from the 2002 movie. According to Sony Pictures chairman, Murphy’s character will return “in a surprising way and in a way that grows.” It is produced by Garland, Boyle, Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, and Bernie Bellew, with Murphy also set as an executive producer.
