A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance from Abia State, Mazi Emma Uche has called on Nigerians to embrace attitudinal change and encourage the efforts of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to overcome the myriads of challenges bedeviling the country.
He noted that criticism is one of the bedrocks of democratic settings and frowned at the attitude of some individuals, who instead of proffering solutions to the fundamental problems facing the nation, would resort to destructive criticisms and tendencies that are unhealthy in deepening democracy in the country.
Uche, who was also a former Chairmanship candidate of the APC in the last council election held in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, during an interview with newsmen on Monday, in Umuahia, the state capital, posited that the current federal government has recorded overwhelming gains in the fight against insecurity, raising the bar in infrastructure, and as well ensured stability of the nation’s economy.
The call by the Abia APC chieftain is coming on the heels of the efforts by the current Nigerian government and expectations from the citizenry in the coming New Year (2022).
Continuing, Mazi Uche also noted that the All Progressives Congress-led administration in Nigeria has encouraged the development of Small and Medium Scale enterprises which have greatly fostered youth, men and women empowerment and also development.
The frontline politician further regretted the infrastructural deficit in Abia State and the alleged inability of the state government to address the developmental problems, regretting that these have continued to tell on the state’s huge and productive business investments.
Mazi Uche called on Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to map out and step up workable policies tilted at giving the state a facelift, insisting that Abia is backward in every facet of governance which he attributed to lack of vision and direction by those entrusted with the leadership of the State.
The APC stalwart further maintained that his party is poised to change the narratives in governance of Abia State as it has a well defined templates upon which it delivers dividends of democracy to the people of Abia State once the party forms the next government in the State come 2023.
He partly stated, “I would want to use this medium to advise the leaders and the citizenry to use this festive period and as well as the coming year (2022) to pray for God’s intervention to the myriads of crisis impeding the development, unity, progress and peace of the country,” reiterating his call for the citizens to continue to support the President as he had made appreciative gains in offering Nigeria’s democratic dividends.
