READ: 2 Timothy 3:1-5

  1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
  2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
  3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
  4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
  5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Corinthians 4:1-21, Psalms 119:49-176

MESSAGE:

The world is in chaos today because different doctrines are springing up from different persons, thereby hindering the spiritual growth of God’s children who believe in them. For example, some Churches have approved same-sex marriages because the despicable act has become widely accepted by many.

A lot of Christians believe in heresies because they base their lives on the actions or words of people instead of the word of God. The Bible says in the last days, different teachers will arise to deceive many; it is clear that we are there already. You need to take the following tests and if you fail, it means you now believe in heresies:

  1. Do you now tolerate sin because others are doing it without facing any consequence?
  2. Do you join others to give different names to sin so that it doesn’t look like sin?
  3. Do you feel comfortable gisting about sin without any feeling of guilt?

My dear, you need to retrace your steps if you failed. Take time to study the word of God on any controversial matter and when the Holy Spirit gives you a personal revelation about it, hold on to your conviction. Jesus will soon return.

ACTION POINT:

Ask the Holy Spirit to shed more light on God’s word to you daily.

HYMN: Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus

  1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus
    Ye soldiers of the cross!
    Lift high His royal banner;
    It must not suffer loss.
    From vict’ry unto vict’ry
    His army shall He lead,
    Till every foe is vanquished,
    And Christ is Lord indeed.
  2. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
    the trumpet call obey;
    Forth to the mighty conflict,
    In this His glorious day;
    Ye that are men now serve Him
    against unnumbered foes;
    let courage rise with danger,
    and strength to strength oppose.
  3. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
    stand in his strength alone;
    The arm of flesh will fail you,
    Ye dare not trust your own:
    put on the gospel armour,
    And watching unto prayer;
    where duty calls, or danger,
    be never wanting there.
  4. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
    The strife will not be long;
    this day the noise of battle,
    the next the victor’s song:
    to him that overcometh
    A crown of life shall be;
    He with the King of glory
    shall reign eternally.
