The Nigerian Army Training Center has graduated 288 officers, charging them to ensure professional conduct in the discharge of their duties.
The Commander Corps of Artillery, Major General Tari-Timiye Gagariga, who was at the graduation ceremony in Kontagora tasked fresh graduands to always maintain high professional standards in their conduct during operations.
According to a press release by Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Captain Babatunde Zubairu, Gagariga on Thursday expressed hope the graduating officers who underwent training on Basic Camel MRAP and APC EQ Series Vehicle Course will help in the fight against terrorism.
Zubairu in the release which was made available to DAILY POST said: “The Commander Corps of Artillery (Gagariga) was the Special Guest of Honour at the event was represented by the Chief of Staff, Headquarters Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery, Brigadier General Lebonsina Lebo.
“The continuous emergence of the asymmetric threats which appears majorly in the form of terrorism and insurgency and being perpetrated by criminals across the country makes this Training more relevant at this time.
“You are therefore charged to do everything possible to sustain the knowledge acquired during the training.”
The Commander Nigerian Army Training Center, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, who also spoke at the event explained that the training covered a wide range of sensitive and strategic operations, adding that the exercise will go a long way in enhancing the professional capacities and duties of the graduands when eventually deployed for operations.
Soyele thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for the support to the Center, stressing that success in the conduct of the training would not have been possible without his support.
