On Saturday, 25th of February 2023, millions of Nigerians stepped out of their houses to exercise their civic responsibility at respective polling units to decide who they think should lead the country for the next four, maybe eight years?
Said to be Nigeria’s most competitive election to date, a lot has happened since voting kicked off in the early hours of Saturday morning across the country.
According to the Inaugural National Election Commission, 94 million citizens registered for the election; no fewer than 87.2 million of this 94 million collected their permanent voter cards (PVCs) and were eligible to vote.

09:15 pm: In Imo State, Orsu LGA records only 49 accredited voters out of 36,712 registered voters.
According to the electoral officer, Orsu has been a flashpoint, having had the highest number of killings and attacks in the state.
A lot of ad hoc staff and INEC officials are reported to have refused to go there to conduct elections except those who were courageous enough to go.
