Manchester United will terminate striker, Edinson Cavani’s contract in a matter of hours to allow him leave the club this January transfer window.
The Uruguay international has finally decided to leave the club this January, according to SportWitness and a transfer to Barcelona is almost complete.
Cavani came on from the bench on Monday to fire in the equalizer during the Manchester United against Newcastle United match in the Premier after injuries and fitness concerns that have hampered him this season.
The veteran Uruguay striker has played just six times in United’s opening 16 Premier League matches.
Monday night’s encounter against Newcastle could be one of the 34-year-old’s last pieces of action in the Red Devils, with an 18-month deal to Barcelona ‘well on track’ to be completed soon.
The report adds that a final decision will be made in the ‘next few hours’, with the Uruguay international said to have already given his approval on the deal .
A meeting is expected to be held on Tuesday to determine whether United will agree to terminate his contract early, which would allow him to move to Barca on a free transfer.
