Job Description

  • Correctly uses TechnipFMC’s design practices, systems, processes, and procedures to develop system schematics, electrical, hydraulic and reliability analysis.
  • Interprets customer’s specifications, creates CTR (Cost, Time and Resources), sheets, presentations, and other documentations for Pre-FEED, FEED studies and/or tenders for potential clients.
  • Performs in accordance with project instructions, schedules, processes and HSE requirements, technically correct engineering analysis and optimized engineering solutions.
  • Ensures IWOCS and Rig ESD interfaces are properly managed and addressed with Topsides, D&C and operations to ensure cross-package conformity of designs.
  • Verifies the qualification status of all IWOCS/Well control components.
  • Participates in customer, project, and design review meetings relating to project assignments. Reports and presents information as required.
  • Ensures that all FEED deliverables for IWOCS/Well control systems are timely and meets customer’s requirements.
  • Supervises less experienced Controls Engineers by checking their calculations, design conception, and engineering solutions and ensures quality and efficiency of deliverables.
  • Knows the FEED study and FEL process and provides support during the FEED execution.
  • Understands general financial models and theories for OPEX, CAPEX and life of field cost, and can with support use these models and theories to communicate the benefits of one concept versus another.
  • Evaluates system options and concepts and translates customer’s requirements into a viable and competitive system design for a FEED project.Calculates the mud weight necessary to maintain well control and accurately selects control equipment: limits, auxiliary units, closing units.
  • Writes and interprets functional design specifications, hydro/electric control systems designs ensuring compliance to relevant company and industry standards.
  • Influences the customer’s decision makers on project level for the assigned scope through technical or commercial evaluations and presentations.
  • Executes additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical discipline.

Required Experience:

  • Strong computer proficiency with applicable software applications in related field.
  • Ability to articulate controls and instrumentation system designs covering hydro-mechanical, electronic, electrical and software aspects.
  • Design, build, manufacture or operational knowledge of main IWOCS equipment, HPU, Reel, Umbilicals, etc.
  • Good knowledge of technical International Standards related to the discipline (e.g. API 6A & 17D, ISO 13628-4-7, ISO 10423 etc).

  • Valid Offshore and Medical Certificates
