Hit and run driver kills road user in Rivers

A hit and run driver has knocked down a man riding on motorcycle along Isiodu axis of East West road within Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The accident happened on Sunday.

An eyewitness said the driver is suspected to be a police personnel attached to a company in the area.

The eyewitness who identified himself as Solomon Azundah said the driver immediately abandoned the vehicle and escaped from the scene after the accident.

Azundah who is the Chairman of Road Transport Worker, Emohua branch said the corpse has been deposited at the mortuary.

Meanwhile, police opertaives attached to the Rumuji Police station have taken the vehicle to their station for investigation.
