Following bandits’ attack on Giwa Local Government area of Kaduna State, the Kaduna State Government on Monday confirmed the recovery of two more bodies of victims. This brings to 40 dead bodies so far recovered from the attack.
DAILY POST recalls that bandits attacked Giwa community, leaving 38 people dead, while houses and other properties were burnt.
However, the state government through Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the recovery of additional two bodies in a statement on Monday evening, said security agencies carried out search operations in Giwa.
The discovery according to the statement followed the weekend’s attack in some villages in the area.
“It would be recalled that Kauran Fawa, Marke and Riheya villages in Idasu, Giwa LGA were attacked by armed bandits, with 38 people confirmed dead as at yesterday,” he said.
According to him, the latest discovery of two more bodies brings the death toll from the attack to 40, adding that further details will be published as they are confirmed.
