Goods worth millions of naira were lost to a midnight fire that gutted a section of the popular Muda Lawal Market in the Bauchi metropolis.
The fire, DAILY POST gathered, which started late Wednesday night ravaged shops, stalls, stores and other structures in the affected part of the market early Thursday morning before it was put off by men of the state fire service and concerned individuals.
Though the cause of the fire was unknown as of the time of filing this report, DAILY POST learnt from responders that it might have been caused by an electrical spark in one of the stalls loaded with foodstuff as people were said not to have put off the light in their various shops and stalls.
It was gathered that the spark occurred as a result of the restoration of the public power supply in the market late at night.
The incident is the second to happen in the market this year.
