Former Liverpool star, Jamie Carragher has said that the title chase is over for Chelsea.
The former Premier League star believes it is now a two-horse race between Manchester United and Liverpool.
The Blues were top of the Premier League table after 14 matches, a run which included just one defeat.
But the Blues have seen themselves struggling in recent weeks and have picked up just five points from their last four games.
Key players such as Romelu Lukaku, Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz, N’Golo Kante and Timo Werner have missed at least one game during that run.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are now third in the league table, six points behind Manchester City at the top and three points behind second-placed Liverpool.
And former Reds defender, Carragher fears that the Blues have all but ended their title chances this term.
“Most people think they [Man City] have the edge over Liverpool and Chelsea. It’s difficult to be too critical of Liverpool’s [2-2] draw against Tottenham, it’s not an easy game and they’ve got Covid-19, they played Thursday night,” he told Sky Sports.
“But what Liverpool can’t afford to do is what’s happened to Chelsea, where three points become six. I think that’s very very difficult for Chelsea to get that back.
“Liverpool at the moment, it’s one game but they can’t allow that gap to five, six, seven points otherwise we’ll be fearing that the title will be going back to Manchester again.”
