Former Tottenham star, Jamie O’Hara has told Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick to ‘pipe down’ after the German outlined his drastic suggestions for English football.

Just four weeks after joining the Old Trafford landlords, the German had suggested that clubs in the English top-flight should not participate in the Carabao Cup, while also asking for FA Cup replays to be scrapped.

The former Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig manager also called for the reintroduction of five substitutes.

Manchester United will see themselves playing three times in eight days in congested Christmas and New Year fixtures and their German tactician want the league management to put all this into consideration.

But former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara was not impressed with the Man United interim manager, questioning what entitles him to go against years of tradition after such little time in English football.

“The fixture pile-up is the fixture pile-up! It hasn’t changed, it is what it is,” he told talkSPORT.

“Who’s this Ralf Rangnick geezer? Who is he?

“He’s been here two minutes and all of a sudden he’s dictating what’s going on and what we should do over here. He needs to get back in his box.

“He’s an interim manager telling us the Carabao Cup is not even worthy.

“He’s got a lot to say for himself, hasn’t he? He needs to pipe down.”
