Names of about three top players Manchester United could sign in this January transfer window have emerged.
The January transfer window offers the chance to rebalance the squad and address any glaring issues as Man United heads into 2022 with renewed optimism after the appointment of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager.
Rangnick replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford in November.
However, Metro UK reports that Julian Alvarez of River Plate is one of the three players Man United could buy to replace Anthony Martial, who is pushing to leave the Red Devils and Edinson Cavani, who is also linked with an exit.
Initial reports had claimed that Man United had made contact with Alvarez.
Alvarez’s current deal with River Plate will expire next winter, but Man United are aware of the £17million release clause in the player’s contract.
Alvarez, 21, scored 18 times and registered seven assists in 21 appearances to help River Plate win the Primera Division in November.
Others are RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara, who is a box-to-box midfielder that was signed by Rangnick in 2019 during the German’s time at Leipzig.
And Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara, whose current contract expires at the end of the season.
