Roma is in talks to sign Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan during the January transfer window, ESPN reports.
The Serie A club’s sporting director, Tiago Pinto, has already spoken with the Gunners about the deal.
Roma is offering a loan move with an option to make the transfer permanent.
Negotiations are around a four-year contract, but no potential fee for a permanent deal has been discussed.
Maitland-Niles almost left Arsenal last summer and tried to force through a move to Everton.
The 24-year-old stayed after talks with manager Mikel Arteta but has started just four games all season.
Everton still retains an interest in Maitland-Niles and could yet rival Roma for his signature.
