Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has admitted there is a ‘cloud’ hovering over Arsenal following the uncertainty surrounding the futures of two top stars.
The Gunners have won four successive matches, scoring 14 goals in the process.
They are also in fourth place in the Premier League table and have made it to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah have done well to fill the void created by the absence of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was banished from the team by Arteta.
Both Lacazette and Nketiah are entering the final six months of their deals and Arteta admits it is far from an ideal situation.
“We have a cloud and the cloud is there and, at the moment, we’re not able to change it,” Arteta told reporters on Friday ahead of Arsenal’s Boxing Day fixture.
“We’re working on it to try to make it as small as possible and as clear as possible, but it’s the situation we are in because contracts have details, the timing of them is tricky and we are trying to resolve it.
“It depends on every single case, depends on the player’s situation, the minutes he’s playing, his willingness or the offer that you have,’ he added.
“But it’s something that you have to consider.”
