Deposed Arsenal captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has left the club to report early for the Africa Cup of Nationsâ camping with Gabon, The Athletic reports.
This means the 32-year-old will not be available for the Gunnersâ next five fixtures.
Aubameyang has not been selected by manager Mikel Arteta, after he was punished for a disciplinary breach.
Arteta had remained coy about Aubameyangâs involvement against Manchester City on New Yearâs Day, saying the club would âtake it game by gameâ.
However, the player has now left the UK, despite Premier League clubs being granted permission to keep their African stars until after the next round of fixtures.
Patrice Neveuâs national side is due to play their first AFCON game on January 10 against Comoros.
