Arsenal’s Premier League fixture against Wolves on Tuesday, December 28, has been called off due to injuries in the visitors’ squad.
The game at the Emirates became the second game scheduled for that day to be postponed.
Leeds’s home clash against Aston Villa was also canceled due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
The two cancellations takes the number of postponed Premier League fixtures to 15.
“The Premier League Board accepted the postponement application as Wolverhampton Wanderers does not have the required number of players available for the match [13 outfield players and one goalkeeper] as a result of a number of COVID-19 cases and injuries at the club,” the league said in a statement.
The Premier League only approves the postponement of a match, if a club has less than 14 players – 13 outfield players and one goalkeeper – available.
