Former England stars, Trevor Sinclair and Darren Bent have slammed Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku and told him to apologize to the club’s fans after making ‘disrespectful’ comments about a future return to Inter Milan.
In an interview aired on Thursday, the Belgium international admitted he was ‘not happy’ at Chelsea under manager, Thomas Tuchel.
He said he wanted to go back to Inter in the near future and Bent noted that the former Man United star could be on his way back to Italy already .
The former Everton and Manchester United attacker, who returned to Chelsea in a £97 million deal from Inter, has scored seven goals in 18 appearances for the Blues this season.
The Belgian has been told he ‘disrespected’ Chelsea by Sinclair and Bent.
Sinclair told talkSPORT: “I’m in absolute shock…for him to come out with those comments, I think he should be apologizing to the Chelsea fans. That’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea fans.
“I think that’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea manager. I’d be astounded if he hadn’t had a conversation with Thomas Tuchel about this.
“…I think it’s disrespectful to his teammates and I think it’s disrespectful to the owner.”
Bent added, “Some of the quotes are just crazy.
“One of the quotes where he says he hopes to return to Inter Milan and not at the end of his career, while he’s at his peak still. That could be soon! He’s not getting any younger. It is a bombshell…
“But to be so public about it, that’s a hammer blow for Chelsea Football Club.”
Lukaku would hope to sort out issues about the controversial interview and get well prepared for Chelsea’s next game which is a difficult task against fellow Premier League title contenders, Liverpool on Sunday.
While Liverpool would hope to bounce back from the 1-0 defeat to Leicester City earlier in the week, Chelsea need to return to winning ways after a frustrating 1-1 draw with Brighton on Wednesday.
