Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Bala Kuryas has reiterated the readiness of the Command to provide adequate security before, during and after Christmas and New Year festivities in the State.

Kuryas stated this in a message to felicitate Christians in the state as they commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

He disclosed that an operation order has been issued to Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and DPOs on security measures in their respective areas for peaceful conduct during the festivities.

He said, ” Nigerlites/residents of the State are equally assured of sufficient deployment of personnel to churches, recreation centres, and other public places during the period”.

However, he admonished members of the public, especially vehicle owners and drivers to be wary of night journeys and over-speeding during travels to avoid vehicular accidents on the road.

The state police boss also advised parents and guardians to prevail on their wards to shun any act of public disturbance as the Command will not hesitate to clamp down on any miscreant who may want to disrupt public peace

He further maintained that the ban on the use of fireworks, knockouts, bangers and other explosive devices is still in force.

The CP then wished Christian faithful in the state, a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year to all Nigerlites.
