Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, is pleased with the club’s fans after it was confirmed his side will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Chelsea defeated Brentford 2-0 in the Carabao Cup last-8 to qualify for the semi-final.
A late own goal from Pontus Jansson and a penalty from Jorginho ensured Chelsea defeated Brentford.
“Tottenham is nice for our fans. A London derby; we are looking forward to it and we want to be there,” Tuchel said at his post-match press conference.
“I am absolutely happy about this result, a brilliant result and a brilliant performance given the situation.”
“They did well,” Tuchel added. “They hadn’t trained for a week and then we invited them to training. They had two sessions with us.
“They listened carefully and did their job. Full credit to the seven guys with whom they played, they took care and made sure they did the right stuff.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal will play Liverpool in the other semi-final fixture.
