A Nigerian pharmacist identified as Subpharmacy has shared the sad story of how his colleague on life support passed away after the hospital suffered a power outage for more than 24 hours.
According to him, the deceased who was involved in an accident had a blood clot in his brain and was placed on oxygen. Sadly, due to the prolonged loss of electricity, he had no air supply and was unable to breathe on his own.
He mentioned that his mom almost suffered the same fate two years back but he brought his personal gen to power her ward.
He wrote;“Man had an accident and there was “blood clots” in his brain. He was on oxygen in the ICU, and they took light. They took light, and for more than 24hours there was no light, the gentlemen packed up. And guess what, he was a pharmacist, With a wife and children.I wish this was a made up story. How I wish.
When my mom was admitted in a particular hospital about 2yrs ago, there was no light, I had to go bring my gen from home and fuel it so there could be light in her ward.Other patients that would have suffered the no light in the ward were thanking me and I couldn’t even deal, like how.”
