Key Responsibilities
Market Research:
Conduct extensive research on market trends, industry shifts, and competitive products.
Analyze market needs and identify new opportunities for product features or new products.
Gather data from industry reports, publications, and third-party research tools.
User Research:
Design and conduct user research activities, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and focus groups.
Identify user pain points and unmet needs to inform product features and improvements.
Create user personas, user journey maps, and empathy maps based on research data.
Gather and analyze feedback from customers, sales teams, and support channels.
Competitive Analysis:
Analyze competitor products and services, documenting strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for differentiation.
Benchmark your company’s products against competitors to identify unique selling points (USPs)
Keep track of competitors’ pricing strategies, feature updates, and market positioning.
Data Analysis and Synthesis:
Collect and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources.
Translate research findings into actionable insights and present these to stakeholders.
Use data to inform product strategy, user experience (UX) design, and development decisions.
Collaboration with Product Teams:
Work closely with product managers to prioritize research initiatives that align with business objectives.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate research insights into product features or design improvements.
Support the product development team in iterating on product designs based on research findings.
Prototyping and Testing:
Assist the product team in creating prototypes based on research data to test product ideas before development.
Conduct usability tests on prototypes and gather feedback for product optimization.
Analyze the results of A/B testing and other experimentation methods to refine product features.
Reporting and Documentation:
Document research findings and prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Maintain a knowledge base of research insights and trends for future reference.
Regularly update product teams with fresh insights to ensure continuous product improvement.
Key Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Product Management, Market Research, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
Experience:
4 years of experience in product research, user research, market analysis, or a related role.
Proven experience with various research methods, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and usability testing.
Experience in working with cross-functional teams (product, design, marketing, engineering) is a plus.
Skills:
Strong analytical skills with experience in both qualitative and quantitative research.
Proficient in research tools such as SurveyMonkey, Google Analytics, UserTesting, and others.
Ability to translate complex data into easily understandable, actionable recommendations.
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
Experience with usability testing, A/B testing, and creating user personas.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey research insights to stakeholders.
