Job Summary
Crown Agents works with government implementing partners in Bauchi and Cross River States to provide reliable accurate and timely information regarding the management of the funds and safeguarding against abuse and loss. Crown Agents have successfully implemented the Year 1 CHAMPS project in collaboration with University of Calabar and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi and is poised to move into Year 2.
To support the increased scope of year 2 CHAMPS activities, especially around Procurement and Supply Chain, Crown Agents seeks to engage the services of Procurement Specialist to be based in the Abuja office.Â
Responsibilities
Undertake all procurement in compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) following the provisions of our Wholesale Distribution Authorisation (Human) (WDA (H)) issued by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and our United Kingdom Controlled Drug Licence issued by the Home Office.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders to support efficient management of supplies and programme planning.
Monitor, with supervisory visits and documented spot checks, inventory storage and movement records in the warehouse which holds stock for which the project is accountable
Regularly collect, collate, and analyse value for money parameters and recommend areas of efficiency gains for Crown Agents
Purchase goods in compliance with Crown Agents’ and CHAMPS Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standards of ethical procurement, donor guidelines, and end-user requirements where applicable.
Management of an effective procurement process, including planning, sourcing, tendering, technical and commercial evaluation, contracting, expediting, and reporting.
Any other duties as appropriate to the position, as requested.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in procurement in private sector/ international organizations in addition to knowledge of completing procurement of health sector goods and commodities in Nigeria.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English, as well as a strong credibility and integrity in this domain
Experience working and collaborating with diverse sets of stakeholders, such as local NGOs, government officials, donor representatives, local and international staff
Accountability and ownership of tasks and results.
A degree or equivalent in engineering, sciences, or social sciences with training in procurement, logistics, and supply chain management
Knowledge and ability to work on ICT tools for inventory management, logistics, and supply chain management
