Job Title: Field Support Technician (FST)
Location: LagosEmployment Type: Full-time
Role Description
The role is responsible for the delivery of excellent customer experience while performing installations, maintenance, etc of various fibre equipment and services.
Key Accountabilities
Identifies network and device issues, applying technical or procedural remedies.
Conducts Quality Control Checks on all incident resolution reports as per established guidelines.
Empowers the division to achieve 100% uptime for all last-mile infrastructure.
Facilitates and coordinate implementation of planned FTTH project/task; providing support to ensure high quality and timely delivery.
Bear ultimate accountability for ensuring planned FTTH activities are implemented according to SLAs, processes, and budget.
Preparing reports and presentations about the FTTH design, plans and performance.
Work with other team members for efficient and timely fault resolution on the company network on any customer incident.
Performs equipment and consumable inventory management for Contractors, ensuring their availability, repair, or return. Keeps accurate records of splitter and equipment conditions in all buildings, as well as inspection results.
Upholds the highest safety standards and actively fosters a culture of excellence in safety across all operational processes.
Adheres to daily and weekly checks to maintain the seamless operation of sites, maintaining up-to-date and precise records.
Ensures all work complies with Health and Safety requirements.
Leads response teams to address specific technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing timely Engineering Operations solutions.
Drives continuous improvement initiatives in infrastructure by monitoring compliance with procedural standards and policies while delivering on agreed-upon metrics.
Manages maintenance and repair programs to prevent service disruptions.
Maintains routing plans, network maps, and disaster recovery strategies to support business continuity in the event of unexpected service interruptions.
Qualifications
B.Sc / HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any relevant discipline
Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper / fibre) cabling
Ability to use OTDR, Light Source, Power Meter, and Splicing Machine.
Physically strong and agile.
CCNN/CCNP is a plus.
Ability to confidently communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization.
Extensive technical knowledge deploying and managing network and infrastructure environment
Well organized, articulate and has numerate skills
Knowledge of network hardware configuration and management, including routers, firewalls, switches etc.
