Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: Lagos

Job Description

Our client is seeking to hire a Data Analytics to join their team.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for turning data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
Perform other duties as assigned by the Unit Head, Data Analytics

Skills / Competencies:

Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Proficiency in SQL
Oral & Written communication skills

QualificationsMandatory

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree and/or Advanced Degree with a concentration in Data Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Statistics / Mathematics.
6 – 8 years working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst, preferably in the financial services industry

Ability to commute/relocate:

Lagos: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

Undergraduate (Preferred)

Experience:

Post NYSC: 6 years (Preferred).
