Nigerian music executive, Samklef, has taken to social media to share an update on the crowdfunding effort for the 5-month-old son of late Nigerian singer, Mohbad.
Recall that the talented singer suddenly passed away on Tuesday, September 12, under strange and controversial circumstances.
Following his death, it was discovered that he was married to his longtime partner, Wunmi, with whom he shares a son, Liam.
Well-meaning Nigerians decided to pool resources together to raise money to support the late singer’s child, as he is no longer alive to provide for him.
Giving an update on the donations, Samklef took to Twitter to disclose that they have raised the whopping sum of N32,744,900 so far.
He tweeted,

In other news, the Head of Landlords in the Ikorodu area of Lagos has recounted how the father of the late singer, Mohbad, wanted to bury him on the midnight of the day he passed away.
A video circulating on social media shows the elderly man recounting the incident that transpired the day the 27-year-old died under strange circumstances.
According to him, Mohbad’s father contacted him that night, and shovels and other digging equipment were brought to dig his grave. However, he claimed that he stopped them from burying the singer at night.
Mohbad was eventually laid to rest the following day, September 13.
This revelation comes amid the controversy surrounding the singer’s death and why he was quickly buried when he was not a Muslim.
