BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Philippians 3:1-21, Isaiah 37-38
MESSAGE:
Having followed for the past three days on friendship, I am sure by now you are well equipped on how to choose friends. However, you need to also know what to do with your friend(s) because if your friendship is not defined, you may lose focus.
Do the following with your friends:
- Read: Read academic, spiritual and moral books together. Locate a library near you, borrow books and buy the ones you can. Rotate these books amongst yourselves if you are more than two and review the book when everyone has read it. You can also download free e-books online. Read the Bible and memorise Scriptures.
- Pray: This is very important. Share burdens and pray together in the Holy Ghost.
- Visit places: Visit Libraries, Cinemas, Museums and good places together. This way, you will not be bored. There are some other good activities such as learning how to cook some new food, baking et cetera that you can engage in with your friends. In all, let Jesus be at the centre of your relationship so that you can build a healthy relationship with your friends.
ACTION POINT:
Mention the names of your friends and spend time to pray for each of them today.
HYMN: What A Friend We Have In Jesus
- What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear;
What a privilege to carry
Ev’rything to God in prayer
Oh! what peace we often forfeit,
Oh! what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.
- Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a Friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrow share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
- Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
