MESSAGE:
No man is an island of knowledge. Therefore, friendship with good people is very important. In fact, there are some levels you may not attain unless you have good friends. Many persons have become great by reason of their association. As a teen, you need to make friends with good people or like minds so that you can be as good as they are. No wonder an adage says, Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are.
How do you make friends? You need to first know who you are before you make friends. This is important because your friends must understand your person and vice versa. Otherwise, you’d always misunderstand one another and this might lead to envy, gossip and unnecessary quarrels. For you to know yourself, you need to understand your temperament. According Tim LaHaye, who wrote the book ‘Why you act the way you do’, there are four temperaments: choleric, phlegmatic, melancholic and sanguine. Read the book and know which temperament is yours.
KEY POINT:
Friendship is sweet when there is understanding.
HYMN: Nearer, My God
