TOPIC: Be Appreciative [Open Heaven for Teens 30 September 2022]
MEMORISE: In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
READ: Psalms 105:1-3
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ephesians 2:1-22, Isaiah 19-21
MESSAGE:
During the pandemic that spread round the world in 2020 and 2021, many countries were under lockdown. There was no schooling, partying, buying and selling in the markets. Socializing became difficult also as people were forced to stay indoors. The world stood still for months. This period made it easy for people to appreciate the seemingly little things that people take for granted, for instance, being able to move freely, do bank transactions, socialize with people et cetera. To think that this is the fate of those in the prisons. It’s really not a good thing to be locked down. No wonder Nigerians strongly kicked against the lockdown when the Government announced a second wave of the Coronavirus. May you never be locked down in any aspect of your life, in Jesus name.
Don’t wait until you are locked down before you thank God for being able to move about if you can. Appreciate God for every seemingly little thing because the lack of it might make life unbearable.
ACTION POINT:
List ten things that you are grateful for and thank God for them.
HYMN: When Upon Life’s Billows You Are Tempest-Tossed
CHORUS
Count your blessings,
name them one by one;
Count your blessings,
see what God hath done;
Count your blessings,
name them one by one;
Count your many blessings,
see what God hath done.
