MEMORISE: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 2 Corinthians 5:7

READ: Hebrews 11:6

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Galatians 1:1-24

MASSAGE:

Faith is the foundation of our Christian walk with God. In fact, the summary of Christianity is faith. No wonder Hebrews 11:1-40 made a list of heroes of faith. Our Bible passage also says without faith, it will be impossible to please God. Indeed, no one can do God’s will unless he/she has faith.

Faith in God is also based on His integrity. One of the characteristics of God is that He can never lie, none of the words He says will fail to come pass. A friend can promise to get you a gift, yet forget to get it or even decide not to, but God will never renege on His promises or words. Therefore, lack of faith in Gods word or His promises is simply saying that God is a liar.

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). His thoughts towards you are thoughts of peace, to bring you to an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has it entered into the hearts of men, what He has in store for you. Don’t lose faith in God even if what you are experiencing right now is the opposite of His desires for you. Hold on, never lose faith in Him

KEY POINT:

All things are possible to those who believe (Mark 9:23).

HYMN: ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

  1. ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
    Just to take him at his word;
    Just to rest upon His promise,
    Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.

CHORUS

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust him more!

  1. O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
    Just to trust His cleansing blood;
    Just in simple faith to plunge me
    ’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
  2. Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
    just from sin and self to cease;
    just from Jesus simply taking
    life and rest, and joy and peace.
  3. I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,
    Precious Jesus, Saviour, Friend,
    And I know that Thou art with me,
    Wilt be with me to the end.
