READ: Revelation 3:11-16

  1. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
  2. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
  3. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
  4. And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
  5. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
  6. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 17:16-34 , Psalms 10-12

MESSAGE:

To have a dying fire is to become lukewarm – a state where someone is in-between being hot and cold. In my early Christian years, I took my Bible everywhere, including the restroom, with the aim of studying to know more about Jesus. Today, I see many people leave their Bibles at home and fiddle with their phones during Church services under the guise of using electronic Bibles. If you now feel comfortable doing the things you did when you were a sinner, it just might be that your fire for God is burning out.

The following are ways to know that the fire of the Holy Spirit is dying in a Christian’s life: the fellow no longer has fresh revelations of God’s word, gets tired when he/she is praying or reduces his/her prayer time, misses out on his/her personal devotion and finds it difficult to participate in spiritual exercises like fasting.

My dear, losing ones fire is very dangerous because it opens one up to attacks from the enemy; also, God will spit out whoever is lukewarm from His mouth. This will not be your portion, in Jesus name. Check your life to know if you’re still on fire for the Lord and if not, ask the Holy Spirit for help today. Thereafter, pick up your Bible, study it and meditate on God’s word.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please revive me today.

HYMN: Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus

  1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus
    Ye soldiers of the cross!
    Lift high His royal banner;
    It must not suffer loss.
    From vict’ry unto vict’ry
    His army shall He lead,
    Till every foe is vanquished,
    And Christ is Lord indeed.
  2. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
    the trumpet call obey;
    Forth to the mighty conflict,
    In this His glorious day;
    Ye that are men now serve Him
    against unnumbered foes;
    let courage rise with danger,
    and strength to strength oppose.
  3. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
    stand in his strength alone;
    The arm of flesh will fail you,
    Ye dare not trust your own:
    put on the gospel armour,
    And watching unto prayer;
    where duty calls, or danger,
    be never wanting there.
  4. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
    The strife will not be long;
    this day the noise of battle,
    the next the victor’s song:
    to him that overcometh
    A crown of life shall be;
    He with the King of glory
    shall reign eternally.
