TOPIC: Be Persistent [Open Heaven for Teens 1 November 2022]
MEMORISE: And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Luke 18:1
READ: Luke 18:1-8
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Titus 2:1-15, Jeremiah 31-32
MESSAGE:
To be persistent means to keep at something tirelessly. A persistent person never gets tired or gives up. No wonder great people who bring about innovations are persistent. Did you have goals at the beginning of the year and it seems the year is running to an end without you achieving them? Don’t worry, keep at them. Studies have shown that the point at which people give up on their dreams is usually the point of breakthrough. Just a little more persistence and there will be a breakthrough.
Is there a particular course/subject in which you have always wished to score an A, yet in spite of putting in your best, you still end up having an average grade in it? Don’t worry, study harder. Is there a particular thing you have been asking God for and it is not forthcoming? Don’t give up, keep asking; when it is the right time, God will do it for you. No matter the hurdles you come across on your path to greatness, rather than give up, ask God for wisdom to find your way through; ask Him for grace and strength. Greatness does not come cheap.
KEY POINT
Don’t give up; winners never quit.
HYMN: PASS ME NOT A GENTLE SAVIOUR
CHORUS
Saviour, Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
