TOPIC: Holy Spirit, My Senior Partner (III) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 9 July 2022)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 18. 2 Kings 19:1-13, Acts 27:13-44, Psalm 82:1-8

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Acts 8:26-39 (KJV)

26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

MEMORY VERSE: “So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” – Isaiah 59:19

MFM Devotional For Today MESSAGE:

Dearly beloved, so far, we have learnt that meeting the Holy Spirit and learning to know Him in an intimate way is the greatest experience a believer can have. Let us now consider why you should make the Holy Spirit your Senior Partner.

First, you need to make the Holy Spirit your Senior Partner so that after experiencing His baptism, you can receive His help for further infilling and for His fire. The Holy Spirit is your indispensable ally, but your relationship with Him as well as making Him your leader is important in determining how much of His blessings you are able to receive. According to the Book of Ezekiel, there are different levels of infilling: ankle level, knee level, waist level and the overwhelming level. When you make the Holy Spirit your Senior Partner and fellowship intimately and consistently with Him, He will move you from the lowest to the highest level of infilling. By so doing, your effectiveness and results in life and ministry will be exponential.

Second, when you make the Holy Spirit your Senior Partner, He will make His immeasurable power available to you to fulfil your purpose and scale hurdles in life and ministry. Also, you will be able to access His fruit and gifts and be well equipped to excel in ministry.

In addition, when you make the Holy Spirit your Senior Partner, you will not lean on your own understanding but will acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path. Every believer needs divine guidance to succeed in life. The Holy Spirit is your best guide for correct direction in life.

Moreover, you need the Holy Spirit’s comfort and help constantly. He will bear your burden and clear your path of all obstructions when you make Him your Senior Partner.

Finally, the Holy Spirit is all-knowing. He is your Teacher and Illuminator. When you make Him your Senior Partner, He will give you deep insight and understanding about the Scripture. The Bible says that He will teach you all truth (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit as your Senior Partner will also protect and defend you. Isaiah 59:19b says, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. I connect myself to the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
2. Thank You Father for the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, I thank You for the abiding and empowering presence of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. My Father, give me the spirit of grace and supplication, in the name of Jesus.
5. Father, give me the spirit of revelation in the knowledge of You, in the name of Jesus.
6. Father, give me the spirit of wisdom, in the name of Jesus.
7. O God, give me the spirit of favour, in the name of Jesus.
