FIRE SCRIPTURE: Esther 4:13-17, 5:1-3 (KJV)

Esther 4:13-1713 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews.

14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

15 Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,

16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

17 So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.

Esther 5:1-35 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

It is no news that troubles, difficulties, challenges, etc., are common to mankind. Trouble has no respect for age, race, gender, background, qualifications, etc. Esther was an ordinary slave girl whom God graciously turned into a queen in a foreign land. Fortunately, or unfortunately, her true identity was not of public knowledge as instructed by her uncle, Mordecai.

Suddenly, persecution arose against her kinsmen, the Jews, and there was an urgent decree to wipe them out. Mordecai sent a message urging Esther to use her good office to overturn the decree. But there was a problem, There was a standing order; no one, not even the Queen could go in to see the king except by invitation. Anyone who violated that law had to pay with his or her life. Notwithstanding, Mordecai insisted Esther must do something because God probably placed her in that position for such an occasion.

Esther took up the challenge, declared a three-days’ dry fast for herself, her maidens and all her kinsmen. Then she summoned the courage to approach the king with her famous declaration: “If| perish, I perish.” Rather than perish, she obtained favour from the king who offered to grant her request, even to the half of his kingdom.

Beloved, what seemingly impossible situation do you find yourself in and it is as if the whole world is closing up on you? Who is the enemy that is threatening to extinguish you from the land of the living? Who is the proud and boastful enemy that has even paid ransom money for your life saying you cannot escape?

Job 5:12 says: “He disappointed the devices of the crafty so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.”

If only you will take a cue from Esther today, seek the face of God, declare a solemn fast, confront that problem with the strength of the Lord, victory shall be yours in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

O God, arise and change my story to glory, in the name of Jesus.

O God, arise and move me from obscurity to limelight, in the name of Jesus.

O God, arise and promote my destiny to relevance, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

O God, arise and silence all my boastful enemies, in the name of Jesus.

Enemies that hate my existence, O Lord, expose and destroy them in their wickedness, in the name of Jesus.

Powers plotting evil against me, Lord expose and disgrace them, in the name of Jesus.

Every coffin and grave prepared for me, swallow your owners, in the name of Jesus.
