BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 49:7-39, Jeremiah 50:1-10, 2 Timothy 2, Proverbs 25:21-28, Proverbs 26:1-2
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 12:1-5 (KJV)
1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

MFM Devotional For Today 2022 MESSAGE:
No good preacher would preach about faith without making mention of Abraham. He was a burning light of faith in the Old Testament. He believed God even when there was no hope. He followed God like a child and walked before Him without blame. He kept a close relationship with God and built altars unto God in every place he sojourned. God called Abraham His friend and testified that He would do nothing without making it known to Abraham because He knew Abraham would impart godliness into his children (Genesis 18:17-19).
Abraham waited for years for the promised child, and some years after God had granted his request, the Lord told Him to sacrifice the child to Him. He obeyed God. He had a character of peace; he refused to put up a fight against Abimelech when his servant forcefully collected the well he had dug. Abraham also kept peace in his home by hearkening to the voice of his wife in sending Hagar and her son out of the presence of Sarah and her son, Isaac. When the herdsmen of Abraham and Lot began to fight because the land could no longer contain them, in the spirit of peace and humility, Abraham told his nephew Lot, to choose the land he preferred so that he would settle for the other. After the death of his wife Sarah, Abraham married other wives and they had children, but he blessed them and sent them far away from his son Isaac. He had the attitude of peace at all times.
The lifestyle of Abraham caught God’s attention and it made God to bless him. Abraham tapped into the supernatural at different levels. He entertained God on several occasions and God formed an everlasting covenant with him.
Would you like to catch God’s attention the way Abraham did? Would you want God to call you His friend? Do you desire the kind of blessings and protection that God showered on Abraham? If yes, let us learn some positive lessons from the life of Abraham.
Abraham was a man of peace. He obeyed God always. He believed God. He walked with God. He was an intercessor. He paid his tithe and offerings to God. He had the habit of building altars to God everywhere he went. He abandoned the idols of his father’s house to follow God. He honoured and feared God. The Lord shall call you His friend, in the mighty name of Jesus.
