Naseem Lahri has promised the Mares of Botswana $16,000 if they beat holders, Super Falcons of Nigeria in Thursday’s Group C encounter at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
Lahri, who is the managing director of Lucara Botswana, is the first Botswana female to run a diamond mining company in the country.
Her kind gestures played a key role in the Mares qualifying for WAFCON 2022.
Lahri doled out $17,000 to the team for making it to Morocco.
Gaoletlhoo Nkutlwisang’s side started their campaign with a convincing 4-2 win against fellow debutants Burundi on Monday night.
Nigeria on the other hand lost 2-1 to the Banyana Banyana of South Africa.
The game will be played at the Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco. The kick-off time is 9 pm Nigerian time.
