A Ted Lasso Season 4 update has arrived, with Warner Bros. TV CEO Channing Dungey revealing the talks he’s had with star Jason Sudeikis on the new season.
What is the Ted Lasso Season 4 update?
Speaking to Variety in a recent interview, Dungey was asked about the upcoming season, which was reported to be in the works two months ago. While Dungey didn’t outright confirm anything, he did say talks for a fourth season were underway and that Sudeikis was “really excited” about it.
“We are in conversations about season four, and they are very exciting conversations, but it’s still early days,” said Dungey.
“We had always been clear that we there wasn’t going to be more ‘Ted Lasso’ if Jason [Sudeikis] and team weren’t feeling excited about it, and I can tell you firsthand that he’s in a place where he’s feeling really excited and feels good about it,” Dungey continued.
While not too much is known about Ted Lasso Season 4, it has been reported that Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Juno Temple have all been tapped to return. Reports that options on Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift have been picked up also surfaced in August, though no official word on the cast has been made as of yet.
Ted Lasso premiered on Apple TV+ in August 2020. The comedy series, which stars Jason Sudeikis as the titular soccer coach, ran for three seasons, the final of which concluded in May 2023. Throughout its run on the streaming platform, the comedy has been heralded by critics and audiences alike and has won 13 Emmys across 61 total nominations.
