Culinary Class Wars Season 2 Ordered, Netflix Issues Statement

Netflix has officially announced the Culinary Class Wars Season 2 renewal for its newest cooking reality competition show from South Korea. This comes after over a week since Season 1 released its final episode.

Since making its debut nearly a month ago, the series has become one of the streamer’s current most popular non-English shows, reaching the number one spot for three consecutive weeks on the Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list.

What did Netflix say about the Culinary Class Wars Season 2 renewal?

“We’re delighted to announce the production of Culinary Class Wars Season 2, driven by the incredible fan response both in Korea and around the world,” Netflix Korea’s director of content, Yoo Ki-hwan said in a statement (via Tudum).

“Bringing a show of this scale to life requires immense effort, and we’re deeply grateful for the love and enthusiasm we’ve received so far. As we continue to expand our unscripted offerings, we look forward to bringing even more distinctive and exciting shows to our audience in the near future.”

Culinary Class Wars is created by Kim Eun-ji and Kim Hak-min, with popular celebrity chef and restauranteur Paik Jong-won and Korea’s only Michelin three-star chef Anh Sung-Jae serving as the judges. The series gathers 100 experienced chefs, from restaurant owners to Michelin star chefs, as they compete in a fierce cooking showdown. To raise the stakes, the participants are divided into two classes. 80 underdog cooks are called “Black Spoons,” while 20 elite chefs are chosen as the “White Spoons.” Notable contestants are Iron Chef: America winner Edward Lee, Michelin star Italian chef Fabrizio Ferrari, MasterChef Korea winner Choi Kang-rok, TV personality Choi Hyun-seok, Chinese cuisine master Chef Lu Chinglai, and more.
