The Waterfront Cast: That ’70s Show Alum Topher Grace Joins Netflix Drama

Netflix has officially enlisted That ’70s Show vet Topher Grace to The Waterfront cast for its upcoming family drama series from Scream and Dawson’s Creek creator Kevin Williamson.

Grace is expected to play the role of Grady. His character is described as a shrewd and intense individual who is looking to get into business with the Buckley family. This marks Grace’s latest collaboration with the streamer after briefly reprising his iconic role as Eric Forman in the first season of the That ’90s Show. He will next be seen in the action thriller film Flight Risk with Mark Wahlberg and the dark comedy film Huntington with Glen Powell.

“Inspired by true events, the series dives into the flawed Buckley family as their attempts to retain control of their crumbling North Carolina fishing empire drive them to increasingly dangerous means to keep themselves afloat,” reads the show’s initial logline.

Who’s in The Waterfront cast?

The Waterfront will be led by Holt McCallany (Mindhunter), who has signed on to portray family patriarch Harlan Buckley. He will also be joined by Emmy nominee Maria Bello (ER) as Mae Buckley, the complex woman who’s married to Harlan and the mother of their two children. Additional cast members include Jake Weary as Cane Buckley, Melissa Benoist as Bree Buckley, Rafael L. Silva as Shawn Wilson, Humberly González as Jenna Tate, Danielle Campbell as Peyton Buckle, Brady Hepner as Diller Hopkins, Gerardo Celasco as DEA Agent Marcus Sanchez, Michael Gaston as Sheriff Clyde Porter, and Zach Roerig as Troy.

The series is executive produced by Williamson and Ben Fast for Outerbanks Entertainment, with Williamson also set as the writer. Marcos Siega is also executive producing and will be directing the first two episodes. It is a production by Universal Television.
