Mildred 4 A Million is a 20-minute short film starring five-time Emmy nominee Marla Gibbs. The world premiere is being held today at the NoHo 7 in North Hollywood, California. The red carpet with Gibbs, writer and director Kimmie P. Callaway, and additional cast members starts at 7 p.m., while the screening, followed by a Q&A, begins at 7:30 p.m.
Following that, the short film will have its Oscar-qualifying theatrical run beginning on Friday, September 27, at the Royal in Los Angeles with daily 3:10 p.m. screenings.

“Mildred 4 A Million is a poignant comedy about a gregarious nonagenarian who desperately wants to connect with her tablet-obsessed great-granddaughter, so she sets out to get a million followers on TikTok,” the official logline reads.
Gibbs received five Emmy nominations for her role as Florence Johnston in CBS’ The Jeffersons, which aired from 1975 to 1985. She also starred in television series such as Checking In, 227, 101 Dalmatians: The Series, The Hughleys, Passions, The First Family, Days of Our Lives, and more.
Gibbs’ filmography includes 1993’s The Meteor Man, 1999’s Lost & Found, 2012’s Madea’s Witness Protection, 2019’s El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, and 2022’s Spirit Halloween: The Movie, among other titles.
Along with Gibbs, Mildred 4 A Million stars Brie Eley, Juliah Ashley Mitchell, Hayley Keown, and Obriella Genesis Witron. Callaway produces alongside Jason Jason Serrato. Jose ‘Choco’ Reynoso and Ben Nix-Bradley created original music for the short film, while Gibbs’ “It’s Never Too Late” jazz song plays under the end credits.
