20th Century Studios has announced the Alien: Romulus 4K, Blu-ray & Digital release dates for the latest installment to Ridley Scott’s iconic sci-fi horror franchise. During its theatrical run, the Cailee Spaeny-led film earned a worldwide gross of over $342 million at the box office. It is also currently Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with a Tomatometer rating of 80%, based on 375 reviews.
“This truly terrifying sci-fi horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful Alien franchise back to its iconic roots,” reads the synopsis. “While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young colonizers come face-to-face with the most relentless and deadly life form in the universe.”
Alien: Romulus will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting on October 15. It will then be followed by its 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD release on December 3. In addition, the 4K UHD will also include a collectible limited edition SteelBook with custom artwork and packaging.
The film was directed and executive produced by Fede Álvarez from a screenplay he co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues. The film also stars CIsabela Merced (Sicario: Day of the Soldado), David Jonsson (Industry, Rye Lane), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Spike Fearn (Tell Me Everything), and Aileen Wu. Franchise creator Ridley Scott also served as a producer long with Michael Pruss and Walter Hill.
