Stephen Amell Wants Heels Season 3 to Be a Netflix Original

Stephen Amell’s wrestling drama series Heels has officially arrived on Netflix, raising questions about the possibility of a Season 3. During an interview, he discussed the show’s future, stating that a potential continuation could see it becoming a Netflix Original. The series, which first aired on Starz, centers on two brothers running a small-town wrestling promotion, with Amell portraying Jack Spade.

Actor Stephen Amell recently addressed the possibility of a third season of Heels.

Appearing on the Busted Open Podcast, Amell expressed hope for the show’s future on Netflix. He said, “If there is a hashtag that gets us, we want it to be #HeelsSeason3. And look, okay, no one took my advice by the way. It says Season 1 and Season 2 right there on Netflix. So the logical step forward would be changing it from a Starz original to a Netflix original or Netflix series.”

However, as of now, there has been no official confirmation from Netflix or Starz regarding a Heels Season 3. The show premiered on Netflix on September 15, 2024, expanding its reach to a larger audience. Despite this, it has not yet appeared in Netflix’s Top 10 rankings. Heels was originally aired on Starz from 2021 to 2023 before being canceled.

Michael Waldron, creator of Heels, spoke with Variety about the show’s Netflix debut, noting, “We often said, ‘Well, s–t, if we were on Netflix, everybody would be watching this thing!’ And now it’s kind of like, alright, the universe called our bluff.” He also discussed the possibility of a third season, revealing that it would explore the darker side of success as the Duffy Wrestling League (DWL) breaks through to a new level.

Waldron explained, “If they’re on TV, and if all these people in this town that haven’t had a lot of money, what does it look like when suddenly everybody’s doing a lot better?” Additionally, he mentioned that the creative team has had “great conversations” with WWE, which could potentially become part of the storyline if the show continues.

Heels is now streaming on Netflix.
