Ted Lasso Season 4 hasn’t been officially greenlit at this time; however, if it is, three cast members are set to return.
Ted Lasso premiered on Apple TV+ in August 2020. The comedy series, which stars Jason Sudeikis as the titular soccer coach, ran for three seasons, the final of which concluded in May 2023.
Per Deadline, Warner Bros. Television has secured the rights to bring back three original Ted Lasso cast members contracted under the aegis of the UK acting union Equity, should a fourth season be made.
The three actors who would return for a potential Ted Lasso Season 4 are Hannah Waddingham (who plays Rebecca Walton), Brett Goldstein (who plays Roy Kent), and Jeremy Swift (who plays Leslie Higgins).
“After securing the trio, the studio is expected to start reaching out to Ted Lasso cast members with SAG-AFTRA contracts whose options had expired, so they will need to make new deals,” Deadline’s article notes.
These cast members are expected to be Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), and Juno Temple (Keeley Jones).
“We hear one of the Ted Lasso OGs, Phil Dunster (Jamie Tart), has not been picked up, presumably due to a conflict with another series; he is on both Prime Video’s The Devil’s Hour and Apple’s Surface,” the article continues. “It is unclear which other stars may be approached about Season 4; the cast have all said repeatedly that they would be happy to reprise their roles if an opportunity arises. Many would likely pop in for guest appearances.”
Deadline also reports that “early preparations” are being made for a Ted Lasso Season 4 writing room. If all the pieces fall into place and a fourth season is officially greenlit, production could potentially begin in early 2025.
