Phyna Faults Inclusion of Embattled Miss SA Finalist, Chidinma in Miss Universe Nigeria Pageant, Nigerians React

 
Controversial reality TV star, Josephine Ijeoma Otabor aka Phyna has reacted to the inclusion of Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican heritage in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant.
 
Recall that she was forced to withdrew from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest over scrutiny of her nationality.
 
Following the incident, Adetshina was invited to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria beauty pageant.
 
Reacting via her X handle, Phyna claimed Adetshina’s inclusion could affect the chances of “typical Nigerian queens” in the beauty pageant.
 
She advised her to take some time off pageantry.
 
She wrote: “Just thinking out loud oh. I’m in support of Chidima o, but this one she now wants to rep us like this…. What will now happen to our own typical Nigerian Queens that have been preparing for it too, Omo I for advise her to leave pageant first or for this year… then go next tym.”
 
Phyna’s post earned backlash, with many condemning her view.
