Sony Pictures has revealed a new Kraven the Hunter trailer, which features Aaron Taylor-Johnson as both the Hunter and the hunted. The trailer also includes a fresh look at The Rhino played by Alessandro Nivola.
”Kraven the Hunter is the visceral, action-packed origin story of how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared.”
Check out the new Kraven the Hunter trailer below for some R-rated violence, including the gruesomely creative use of bear traps.
The comic book adaptation will join fellow R-rated 2024 juggernauts Deadpool & Wolverine and Joker: Folie Ă Deux in offering violent potty-mouthed entertainment in the comic book movie space.
Kraven the Hunter is directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) from a screenplay co-written by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer films), Matt Holloway, and Art Marcum.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as Kraven the Hunter and is joined by Russell Crowe, Alessandro Nivola, Ariana DeBose, Christopher Abbott, and Fred Hechinger.
Sony will hope it fares better than some of its other Spider-Man spin-offs. Morbius and Madame Web were disasters outside the memes they produced. The Venom movies have fared better, and star Tom Hardy closes out his run as the character in Venom: The Last Dance.
Kraven the Hunter will be exclusively in theaters in December 2024.
