Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of our civil engineering construction company.
The General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, fostering client relationships, and ensuring the successful execution of projects while upholding the company’s values and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all business units and departments.
Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to streamline processes, optimize resource utilization, and enhance productivity.
Identify opportunities to add value to client projects and exceed expectations through innovative solutions and proactive communication.
Implement cost-control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
Prepare financial reports, analyses, and forecasts for senior management and stakeholders to support decision- making and strategic planning.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and a commitment to safety and ethical business practices.
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to allocate resources effectively, mitigate risks, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.
Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to achieve profitability targets and maximize project margins.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration, trust, and long-term partnerships.
Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and feedback, ensuring prompt resolution and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Proven track record of success in senior management roles within the civil engineering construction industry, with at least 10 years of experience.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and deliver results.
Proficiency in project management software, financial management tools, and other relevant technology platforms.
Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market trends, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Professional certifications or licenses may be preferred (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), etc.).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
Thorough understanding of civil engineering construction processes, techniques, and best practices, with a focus on quality, safety, and sustainability.
