He is the second child and only son of Rachel and Daniel Gillies, born two years after his sister, Charlotte Easton Gillies.
Theodore’s parents are very popular individuals in the entertainment industry. His father, Daniel Gillies, is a renowned Canadian actor known for his role in the popular American series ‘The Vampire Diary.’ Racheal Leigh Cook, his mother, is a famous actress, producer, and model who starred in the lead role in a Netflix Rom-Com called “A Tourist’s Guide to Love.”

Theodore and Vigo were the two names they had shortlisted after settling with nicknames such as “sweetheart,” “raisin” and even “calcified alien” within the period of brainstorming through a long list of 700 names for their newborn.

Sullivan is also a name Rachael fancied so they added that to their child’s name. Daniel made sure to give little Gillies four names, seeing he was born on the fourth day of the fourth month. That was how the name Theodore Vigo Sullivan Gillies came about.
