Watford manager, Ismael Valerie has revealed he turned down the chance to bring Emmanuel Dennis back to the club in the summer.
Dennis was linked with a move back to Vicarage Road just a season after leaving the club.
Valerie disclosed that he blocked the move because the forward is not prolific.
“His (Dennis) name came on my desk, but I said no. Simple as that,” Valerie told Watford Observer.
“I honestly don’t think this was a mistake for Watford. He’s not been that prolific in his career.
“Yes, he had that one season where he scored 10 goals and earned that move to Nottingham Forest, but that has been his best tally in his whole career to date.”
The 25-year-old moved to Nottingham from Watford last summer.
The striker didn’t make much impact at Nottingham Forest last season, scoring twice in 19 league outings.
He is currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig club, Istanbul Basaksehir.
