Bright Osayi-Samuel has warned his Super Eagles teammates to brace up for a tough 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
The Super Eagles will be looking to win a fourth AFCON title when hostilities begin in Cote d’Ivoire next January.
The West Africans have been drawn in a relatively easy group with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
But Osayi-Samuel, who plays for Turkish Super Lig giants, Fenerbahce, believes the the team will not enjoy an easy ride in the competition.
“I think every team is difficult,” the right-back told Naija Football.
“We are playing in a tournament, so everybody will be looking to beat Nigeria because of the weight we bring and how big of a footballing nation we are and the team we have. So every game will be hard.”
The Super Eagles will begin their 2023 AFCON campaign against Equatorial Guinea at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium on January 14.
The three-time African champions will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire four days later.
They will do battle with the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in their final group game on January 22.
